Onyx Vans is a small specialist manufacturer. We design, build, and finish a range of adventure campervans on the MAN TGE platform — the three of us, in our own workshop, to a standard built to last.

We build complete adventure campervans on the MAN TGE platform — designed as whole vehicles, engineered around systems that hold up, and finished to a standard you can see and feel. Small enough that the people who design your van are the people who build it. Skilled enough that it’s made to outlast the trips you buy it for.
Everything happens in our West Sussex workshop: the design, the in-house fabrication, the electrical systems, the fit-out, and the final checks. Every van is built to order.

Victron electrical and Aquahot heating, specified because they hold up in the conditions that test equipment properly — the same components used in marine and off-grid home installations.

Onyx began with a van Chris and Heather converted in lockdown and weren’t supposed to keep. It funded an engagement ring, and it confirmed what’s now a three-person workshop on a West Sussex farm. We build the vans we’d want to travel in ourselves.
